• Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Sam Posner. Attendees were asked to put their names in the chat for accurate record-keeping.

• Approval of Minutes: Approval of the previous month’s meeting minutes was postponed to the November meeting as the minutes were still being prepared.

• President’s Report: President Sam Posner gave a report that highlighted events from the previous month, including a well-attended “Dads Bring Your Kids to School” event and a movie night featuring the film Encanto.

  • The President's report also included updates on the allocation of $3,500 for school trips, noting increased interest in trips this year.
  • Efforts to improve communication and inclusion for Spanish-speaking families were discussed. These efforts include: Utilizing the auto-translate feature on Google Meet, Creating a Spanish-language WhatsApp group and Planning a PTA meeting to be held in Spanish.

• The PTA is trying to be more inclusive of families whose first language is not English.The meetings are being held on Google Meet, which has an auto-translate feature that provides live closed captions. In addition, a Spanish-language WhatsApp group has been created for school-related conversations. A meeting will be held in Spanish to allow Spanish-speaking families to ask questions and share their thoughts.*

• Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Choi Harth reported a current balance of $10,601.79.

• Fundraising updates included:

  • $126 raised from the movie night.
  • $2 raised from Box Tops.
  • An ongoing Stop & Shop fundraising initiative.
  • A reminder was given about the optional PTA membership dues, suggesting a donation of $10. Payment can be made via QR code or cash sent in an envelope labeled "PTA Donation".
