Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Sam Posner.

Approval of Meeting Minutes: Sam Posner started the April PTA meeting, announcing that the meeting was being transcribed.  He postponed approving the March meeting minutes until the next meeting, but provided a link to automatically generated notes from the March meeting.

President's Report: Sam Posner shared positive news, including the Jesse Owen students' artwork winning a city-wide contest and the popcorn sale raising $7,500, enough to fund a Cool Culture Pass for the early childhood classes for the 2025-2026 school year.

**Treasurer's Report:**Michelle Choi reported that PTA finances were in great shape, with a balance of over $22,000.  This includes donations from Bright Funds, a donation drive, and the Double Good popcorn sale.  They are still slightly below last year's total but anticipate raising more with the upcoming family fun auction.

Principal’s Report: Principal Diana Funtleyder highlighted a 94% parent survey completion rate, the highest ever recorded. She also announced Mr. Max Luddy as the new assistant principal and Ms. Uzette Caldwell as the new guidance counselor.

• New Guidance Counselor: Ms. Caldwell introduced herself, noting she is currently the PE teacher and excited about transitioning into the guidance counselor role. Principal Funtleyder also highlighted Ms. Caldwell's extensive experience as a social worker.
• Mr. Luddy briefly introduced himself and expressed enthusiasm for his new role. Principal Funtleyder acknowledged his positive impact on the school community.
• Principal Funtleyder announced a surprise change in the District 16 superintendency. She assured the community that this change would not impact PS26's operations or their commitment to student success

School Survey Acknowledgements: Sam Posner praised Jessica Jones and Ms Torres for their exceptional work in achieving the high parent survey participation rate, emphasizing their personalized efforts to reach out to families.  Jessica Jones thanked everyone for their participation and announced a grade-level competition based on the survey results.
